chain longevity?

RE: chain longevity?
it depends on how you ride also, all the lube in the world and cleaning wont stop it from stretching if your hitting the wheelies and launching it. average and because of maintainence, i replaced my chain and sprockets once a year on my 750. the afam/did kits seemed to hold up quite well.

Like evil said. Depends on how you take care of it. Proper lube and adjusting will help a lot. But if you do a lot of burnouts and / or wheelies, it will shorten the life.
I don't do burns or wheelies. I also lube mine weekly. My '01 ZRX has almost 68k on it. I'm only on my third set of sprockets and chain. I got 34k from my stocker and 32k from the next one. I think I only got 32k is because I went -1 on the front sprocket.

very true.
power and abuse all create an inverse effect to chain life!
when i was clutchin wheelies up all the time on my 600s, i was always gioong thru chains and such..
i'm a bit more behaved on my 7-R, and low bikes hate wheelies anyway, but the occasional launch has warranted a few adjustments as well, even with regular lube.
and welcome to KF!!
