Default to carbon or not to.

Hi guys , i went to dealership and they told me $3,000 for full body work black factory painted. They have to order 06 parts tho and my bike is 05 , so they are questioning if its compatible with my bike. So for the mean time i was wondering should i buy complete carbon fiber parts from OPP? I wanted my bike black and carbon fiber is kinda black but looks pretty wierd , can i get your opinion guys? oh and carbon fiber = $1,700 , dude i really think dealership is ripping me off CRAZILY lol , who woulda thought fiber glass cost twice as much as carbon fiber rofl. If i get carbon fiber is it possible to paint over it black gloss and not make it look wierd? Do people like the look of carbon fiber or am i the only one that think it looks wierd , like kinda metal chain links or something lol. thx for ur reply. -Eric

I would stay away from the cf but mostly because I do not like the look. Stealership is going to F-you no matter what, if you want glass than check out sharkskins or others.

I think Evil636 just got some PM him and ask.

Carbon fibre is used alot by racer's due to its light weight and rigidy. Plus if you like the look thats a plus... I do. If not you can paint over it, its been done b4

Most of the serious racers use CF/ Carbon Kevlar mix. Its extremly flexable and very strong. OPP also offers a full line of fiberglass bodywork for most sportbikes that will be alot cheaper than the OEM bodywork.

hahaha, so true! Unless it is labeled as a "safety issue" when explaining the part to the wife on why you had to have it! lol
