back fireing problums
I have a ZX10 2004 and my bike back fires when i let off the throttle at 3500 rpm I had the bolts tighend on the heads because they were loose the plug were changer. and i just dont get it. I have a stock pipe on the bike. I can hear the valves when i ride for a while dont know if the norm. any tip on what it might be I even changed the airfilter. I think that i did all there is to do. The bike only has 3700 miles on it.

this is going to sound dumb but what is the "rack/tb's "? I dont know much about bikes im learning as i go along here lol. I dont have a clue why the bolts had to be tightend i had to that done at a dealer ship. I had also tightend the exhaust bolts they were lose also.

the rack/tb's is the throttle body rack where all the throttle control happens. they house the butterflies for the throttle and choke
is your servo under your set woking for the exhaust valve?
should cycle open and closed when you turn the key on..
welcome to KF!

RE: back fireing problums
Thanks wh for the detailed follow up.
If there are no mods done, then I would be checking my CCT (cam chain tensioner) next. Could be running too loose and affecting the timing.
edit: CCT adjustment quick check- I place my 06 10r in 5th gear, pop the clutch while you are pulling the bike backwards a few times. The stock auto adjustable CCT's are not the best at times.
