hello i just bought a 1995 zx-7r with 27,000 miles on it when i'm riding it i'm getting this rattling or squeking noise from what seems to be the top of the engine it doesn't make the noise when stopped at idle and it goes away when i hit about 4-5000 rpms any idea what it might be. thanks steve

 

hmm... could just be something as simple as a loose bolt on the valve cover.. not too much under the tank to be squeaking and rattling other than the kleen air stuff, and the coils.

could even be a loose tank bolt..

doubt it's anything to do with the actuation of the kleen air control and bypass valve.. could be, tho.. but that thing is open under load, and closed under throttle shutting and engine braking.. shouldn't be in there squeaking..lol


oh.. and welcome to KF!!

 

check the exhaust as well
