'91 ex500 stalls mid ride
Starts and idles like a champ, but for some reason it will stall mid ride. I'll try to give it gas, and downshift but it just doesn't respond to anything. I bought it for 600$, and was told it was a 'fuel flow issue'. The owner before me had 'been through the carbs by himself' a couple of times, so I eliminate that. could there be a blockage in any other lines?

There very well could be. Never trust your life to someone else's work, that being said there can be any number of problems causing it to stall, best bet is to check everything and an overall tune-up cant hurt. Start at the beginning, Check the air filter, then move down the path of the fuel flow, Tank (make sure its properly vented....and full of premium gas), petcock (check good flow and position), Fuel filter (cheap enough to replace even if its not bad), Fuel pump (check pressure), Float bowls (adjusted properly), Carbs (cleaned and checked for debris). Should get ya started, let us know what you find.

Whachu talk about willis? The 500 is the purest essence of functionality, a utilitarian wet dream, and from what I hear an absolute joy to ride. Works great as a beginner bike and I also know some people who went back to it after the bigger bikes because its more comfortable, more maneuverable and more fun. She has some miles on her and some damage too but she will treat you right, plus the black is just perfect for those lines.
Enjoy the ride.
Enjoy the ride.
