It is a 908cc 4cyl; 16v

 

Let the bike warm up after you start it. Even with today's fuel injected bikes (which most people just crank-up and go) it doesn't hurt to let the oil circulate and engine blockget warm. I'm not talking 10 minutes; maybe one full minute.
What's the rush?

 

PS. If you smell gas when you're trying to start it, that typically means you've flooded the plugs. Pull the plugs, dry 'em off, re-install them. Give your air intake just a snort of starting fluid to get it going. If the gas has gone bad, it won't continue to run. If it doesn't run, drain the bowls, put in fresh gas, try again.
If you've been grinding on the starter, smell gas in the exhaust, bike won't start, etc., I'd bet you need to clean the plugs and drain the bowls.
Also, go easy on those starters; don't just grind and grind. Otherwise you'll be buying a starter, next.

Thanks for that. I went very easy on the starter. I charged the battery and that seemed to fix most things. Rides great! Still smell a little gas tho'.

Its been two years since the fluids were changed (And only 400 miles)...Should I take her in for fluid change, etc? THANKS!

oh yeah change all the fluids. plus you could be running really rich too cuz the carbs are gunked up
