If it bogged down and turning the throttle only made it worse, sounds like a typical fuel problem. Make sure you have fresh high octane gas, check the fuel filter, fuel pressure, float settings, make sure they actually did clean the carbs, and go from there. Keep us posted.

Edit: Oh, make sure you have gas too. Switch the petcock to reserve if you havent already, or add a gallon if it looks low. I have sat on the side of the road for a while before figuring that one out...

Prom,

Well I did stop to fill it up with 93 Octane. When it bogged down it was like it lost all power completely. I took it to my buddies bike shop to get some diognositcs run. Their going to tell me what the problem is and how much it will cost to get fixed. I hope I hear from them tomorrow. I also hope that they check the whole engine and carbs. I want this to be a one time thing. Once the bike is fixed I am very good at keeping them maintained. I will always do a 10w-40 synthetic oil change and top of the line filter. I just hope it's nothing exceeding over $500 dollars.

As a project bike it might take some $$$ to get her back to her prime. Your best bet is to do the work yourself, ask your buddy if he will stop by and give you pointers as needed, but make sure you have food or beer waiting when he comes by.

Prom,

Do you think it could be more than $500 dollars? Thats sort of the limit I don't want to exceed.

Not if you do the work yourself. Sounds like you bought a good project, but like any project it will need some work. Put in the time yourself and you will save a bundle, mechanic rates can be over $65/hr, and there is very little they can do that you can't. Let us know what you find out.
