Default 77 750 2cyl

i just got a1977 kz750 2cyl bike, i am already thinking of modifying it but have no idea where to start the bike has lots of power right now but being a performance nut i want more. i also tried flipping the handle bars to give it more of a flat track feel but the master cyl. and throttle wouldn't push in far enough it was over hanging by an 1" or so, the master was hitting the curve in the bars and ideas?

I would prolly pay more time on the braking and suspension on those rides first.

I second that notion.

The KZ bikes where terrific rides back in the day, and those two-cycle 750's gave Kawasaki a good reputation for being a premier manufacturer of extreme brute horsepower machines. But the KZ's are like a big 'ol Chevy Chevelle SS with a big block, in that even though they have gobs of power, they didn't stop or handle particularly well. There probably isn't too much you can get for aftermarket performance anyway on that old of a bike. (since it is a 2cyl engine.) Maybe you could have the engine ports reshaped and polished by a local shop that does a lot of 2cyl ATV and dirtbike mods. Oh, and definitely upgrade your tires to something performance oriented.

Whoa! Now I'm confused. I figured because of the year, it was a the two stroke, three cylinder 750. But those bikes must have been earlier than '77. Nonetheless, I do know about the two cylinder 750 also. Unfortunately, most of the performance parts I've ever seen for the KZ's have always been the four cylinder models.

well i'll just have to do what i do to my cars and make performance parts and modify factory parts. but how would i go and modify the suspension better springs on the rear and newer front shocks from a newer model 750? i'm thinking about puttin the dual front brakes on it all i need is another rotor and caliper and bolt it on. but what about the rear brakes?
