220 bayou loses spark at 2500 rpm???
Hi,
I have a 220 that will run all day under about 2500 rpm, if I rev it loses spark and dies. I bought this thing thinking it was a carb, plug, valve, or loose wires problem, but they all checked out, but the starter and the starter relay are bad. Could they be the cause? I used a dual plug coil for testing and has good spark until 2500 rpm. please help thank you...

Are you sure its not a plugged jet? I have seen bikes cut off when throttle is applied... Just a thought. The idle jet will keep it running, but then when you try to give it gas the main is plugged and it won't run. Just a thought, I'm definitely no expert here. There are a lot of other guys on here that know better than me.

thanks, I have a new used rectifier on the way via ebay, thought that or the cdi to blame, its just weird that it runs so well at low rmp. Great advice to check the voltage output going to check today and I will let u no.
