2009 KX 250F New head valve clearance issue…
I bought a used 2009 KX250F that ended up having a starved fuel pump leading to the cam rollers eating themselves apart.
I’ve got a new OEM head, new HotCams stage 1 cams, new KB valves and valve springs.
I’ve got the head assembled enough to check valve clearance and get some new shims for the new parts. 3 out of 4 valves have a reasonable amount of shimming required(2.5-2.8mm) the 4th, intake non chain side, is way off, like a few millimeters… I’ve measured everything that I can with calipers, the valves are definitely the same length and are seating into the head properly. I am using the old tappets, but they’re virtually the same…. I don’t really know where else to look.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
