Default 2001 ZX6R CB

I just purchased my first CB 2001 ZX6R as my first sports bike. The guy before me took good care of it real well. The bike just tipped over 6k miles. No scratches, showroom condition (literally). He had micron exhaust on it and that was only mod. He took it off prior to sale leaving the bike stock. Now I am looking to do some performance upgrades myself. What should I go with first. I was thinking exhaust but i don't want to run too lean or rich and end up damaging engine.

Whats a good list of mods and places to FIND the mods for a 2001 ZX6R. Thanks

you should be ok with an ehaust on it. If you do go with an ehaust your probly have to get a jet kit of it so the bike doesn't run lean. i'm not sure if theres a list of mods out there for your bike but i'm sure theres a buch of parts out for that year and model.

Do they make power commanders for the 2001 ZX6R?

Bigigor if i'm right your bike is carbed and you can't use a powercommander. powercommanders are for fuel injected bikes. that's why i said you'll need a jet kit for your bike.

Will the jet kit increase power through the rpm band? If so which stage do you suggest, since the only other thing i plan on putting on will be a slip on exhaust.

bigigor55,, not sounding mean here, but can you read plugs? Do you understand what the low and high speed circuits of a carb does? How about the taper of the needles? read up and learn. good info.

I got a busy lifestyle. I rarly get on the computer. If i do its right before bed for about 20 minutes max. Mostly checking emails and whatnot. I got college starting up now, 3 jobs, and a GF to hold. This is why I don't have much time to devote my mastering my knowledge on bikes. I am not one to make bike my life and learn every little thing about it. All I want my bike to do is sound good and run fine. I do not plan on doing jet kit installs myself either, due to the fact that I don't want to mess anything up.

Having said that. I was wondering whats a good place to get Pirelli Diablo rear tires and how much would it usually be to get at dynojet jet kit stage 1 installed?(labor). Thanks.
