1998 kx125 clutch problems
hi everyone i recently brought a 1998 kx 125, when i got the bike home i noticed that the clutch would not fully disengage because when i would put it in first gear the bike would be wanting to slowly move forward, i took the clutch apart and noticed the clutch basket had some bike notches in it so i brought a new one and put that in and i also put new clutch plates in, but when i put it all back together i have noticed that iv still got the same problem and it also seems as if the push rod isnt pushing the pressure plate off enough to let the clutch disengage ? im completely lost at the moment so any help would be great.
i have also replaced the clutch cable and messed around with that but that did nothing.

Welcome to KF and congrats on the new ride.
How was the oil when you drained it? What fresh oil did you install after the new plates? Did you soak the plates prior to install? Normally a cable adjust and the correct oil may have solved most of your issues. The creeping is what I am thinking on the oil and cable adjustment comment.

hi there thank you for the reply
when i drained the oil it was very dark and looked like it had not been changed in a long time,
i soaked the plates for 6 hours prior to fitting them
i used silkolene light gear oil
many thanks charlie_kx125

Did you measure all of the clutch springs? What were they (for knowledge to others and myself). I do not have a manual on your ride for the spring length measurements.
