So I bought a 1996 zx6r for my brother so we can ride together this summer I have a 03 zx6r I didn't have a lot of money so that is why i bought a older bike. Anyways I show up the guy had it running allready and he jumped it with his truck all he said needed was a battery to get it running. It ran perfect when he jumped so I buy the battery and charge it put it in everything works well except for it doesn't turn over. So I ran through all of the basics to look at it and still doesnt turn over. The starter isn't making noise so I don't believe it is the starter and THe guy claimed he had the carbs professionally cleaned just 2 weeks before I bought it. Any ideas reason why I am asking is that With my zx6r it has it few tweaks to it and some people just can't ride my bike due to the tweaks so I want an opinion from some people who knows this year a little better. My brother comes home from Iraq in may so I do have time to work on it, just tell me what do you think? thanks

 

Don't go to the carbs just yet since the starter is not turning the engine over. So there is no clicking sounds what so ever? As if the relay is not getting enough juice? Will it jump start?
