1985 Ninja 600R - No tail lights
Hi,
I have a 1985 Ninja 600R, and the tail light does not come on. The brake light works perfectly. I have verified it's not the bulbs by trying them on a test bench, and testing known working bulbs in the bike. All the fuses are good and everything is plugged in. Following the Hayne's manual (the only one I could find), I checked for voltage on the red wire of the tail light plug - it does not have power. Then, the Haynes manual just says "check the wiring up to the main/ignition". And that's it. Not too helpful. I took the tank off and checked about everything I could, nothing is broken, they're all there and plugged in, nothing is shorting or grounded. The ground wires are all good. I'm at a loss as to why the bike has no tail lights. Anyone else had this issue or know what I should be checking? For all I know it might be something rather simple that I'm missing - I have been doing cars, boats, dirtbikes, seadoos for years but this is my first non-dirt bike.
Thanks all,
Joel
Edit - I should note everything, all sockets and plugs are clean and have dielectric grease.
