1981 kz250 LTD parts compatability
Hello everyone.
I just purchased my first bike; a 1981 kz250 LTD (real bargain).
It has a few things that need to be fixed before it is roadworthy, the ones of most importance bing a new starter motor and stator/magneto.
I have found somewhere where I can purchase both a starter motor and magneto/stator from a 1982 Kawasaki KZ250L CSR. Could anybody point me in the right direction to finding out if these parts are compatible with my bike? That would be a great help.
Also, the frame is stamped KZ250G, while the motor is stamped KZ250DE, I'm almost certain this is a kz250LTD/KZ250D/Z250LTD, but it is missing the LTD badging on the side so I'm not 100% certain. Any corrections in my identification would be appreciated too.
Thanks
Yaro

Ok, I found out how to do this, here is the answer for anyone else in the future:
1)go to
http://www.kawasaki.com/Home/Home.aspx
2)
owner info>parts diagrams
3) find your bike.
4)look up the part number
5) enter it in the field up the top, and change the drop down list from "motorbike" to "parts number".
It will then show you a list of models using tha part number.
