06 kx250f oil change question.
hi everyone new to these forums.. im a usual street rider on my 06 honda cbr 600rr.. and just recently bought a 06 kx250f dirt bike.
rode it a few times and now changed my oil.. but i am skeptical about turning it on and riding it not sure if i did it right.. i followed the tear down book and changed the oil accordingly but sum stuff has me stumped.
now on the bottom of the bike theres two plugs.. and little one i believe 8mm and the other big one witha hole in it.. the book told me to drain both. and i did so. and changed the filter etc.
now here is the actual question...
1. is the small drain (8mm) plug for the motor or the transmission
2. same question for the big drain plug.
3. i put 1.6 quarts into the oil filler cap as stated in the book. and the level on the glass dial looks exact!.. do i need to put oil anywhere else or is that it? do the transmission and the motor oil get filled in the same oil filler cap portion? i am lost at that lol.. someone please answer this so i can go riding haha! this **** is killing me!

RE: 06 kx250f oil change question.
Hey neoz, I wanted to reply yeasterday but I lent my service manual out to a friend. For the life of me I cannot remember what the 8mm drain plug is for and it doesn't state in the cheap owners manual. Not much oil come out compared to the main oil plug. I think that's what stumped ya. But I can say that you did everthing correct. ALL oil goes into the clutch cover filler plug. The glass should be half full... A good tip is wire tie the 14mm drain plug to a hole in the skid plate too.
I have 88hrs on mine and still rips!
