LOL...nope I went about 7000 on mine, and thats is a pretty good combi of agressive and easy riding. You can get some hard tires, but you won't be able to have nearly as much fun.

hot_asp get the tires to fit your needs and of the ride. Yes, the conti's have worked for some on the 10r's, the Q's work for others.

that's why i needed this thread up. i've never had a street bike before. so i'm totally lost in pretty much every aspect of it. i've been road trippin every which way possible except on a street bike and a train.

i've been all across canada in a truck, a car, a harley, i've flown, gone by semi, (drove a bit, unprofessionally lol)and i've been boating all up and down the east and west coasts. i've done the quad thing, dirt biking, even pedal biking for100km.so it's pretty much my last thing to drive cross the country, but i need to make sure i'm prepared. i'll be getting a bike in the next little while here, (before my birthday, day after st. pats) so i gotta know tires for sure

No disrespect, but since you are not familiar with sporty rides it seems, stay with $200 shipped to the door. Qualifiers work for me, contis are prolly cheaper. I will say that I can cruise on the Q's the distance and still have some fun.

how often do cruisers hae to replace tires? seems like they can go a lot longer between tire changes.

well i ordered my conti road attacks - 240 shipped - decided to spend the extra 40$ since they seemed a little better and had a lot mroe reviews on them on the net. 120/60/17's and 180/55/17's since thats what my bike is running, i know 160 is the s tock rear size but i've never had a problem with the 180.
