Default Street light Sensors

Last night I got stuck at a red light. The sensor in the road didn't seem to pick up My Bike. Felt kinda dumb sitting there waiting. [:@] I ended up having to make a right on red & then a U-turn. Anyone else have this happen? Maybe I need to be farther left or right but it was dark & I could not see any lines in the black top showing where a sensor was.

It all depends on how sensative the sensor is. One of my friends is an electrician for cal-trans and he says that there is no way to manipulate the sensors.

I ru7n them too!

Most of the time the light will turn for me, but sometimes I get stuck at the light. Here in Tennessee we have to make sure and if no one is coming we can go. I only do it at night so that I can see if anyone is coming.

I had to sit there for a couple of lights before too. Now I just pull in the middle and have the back tire on the line...bounce on the seat a few times ( looks stupid I know ) but works sometimes I guess.Like Not says, all depends on how sensitive the sensor is.

I usually roll back and forth across the zone. Drivers look at me like I have to pee or something....

Why yes Drag, I am a red light humper and I do roll the bike back and forth too. Hmm? I remember the kickstand post. Maybe I'll hump at the light, roll back and forth, put the kickstand down and run around the bike a few times...just too see what peoples reaction is! They already think we're crazy for what we ride!...

Yes Drag there was. I think Speed Started the thread. Anyhow it all depends on the sensor like what has been mentioned in the previous posts. But in most cases there are three cuts in the road in a rectangular shape. these are loop sensors. Put your tire on one of those lines and you should get the arrow. Some of the newer loops are being cut in a circle instead of a rectangle.
