Speeding ticket
Hey guys I just got a speeding ticket on my 2006 kawasaki zx6r going 60 in a 25 mph school zone. Was curious as to what you think the fine on that might be? It was kinda bogus because I was behind other cars and he pulled me over but i dont deny i was speeding :P Just waiting to find out how much the ticket costs.

RE: Speeding ticket
Fines vary on municipality.
But in a school zone, in excess of double the posted limit... bend over. You will be lucky if you don't lose your license should you go to court over it.
25 over in most states is considered reckless, and is jailable. Count your blessings and slow the hell down.

If you fight it in court be sure you make the officer state whether there were children present....because in most states the statute reads "when children are present" that doesn't merely mean school in session but children actually in the immediate vicinity. ie. sidewalk etc.

lol crap guys make me scared ****less that im gonna lose my license AHHHH [:@] There weren't any children present because he pulled me over at 2:25 and the school there gets out at 2:30. By the time we were done some of the high school kids were on the sidewalk but besides that all the description of the ticket says is "unsafe speed edp code 18d4-m". It was unlucky though cuz normally the speed limit there is 55 i just happened to be there at a bad time : (

RE: Speeding ticket
well the only reason I know is because our Judge (I'm a cop) threw out several tickets that some co-workers issued because even though school was in session there were no children actually present....so the speeding didn't cause a hazard to the children.
