any cheap place out there for zx7r chrome frame sliders that don't require hacking up your fairings?

nope, on 96+ you've got to cut the fairings. Its not to difficult though. Just use a dremil or a hole saw
or you could mount them directly to the frame, ofcourse that means drilling into your frame.

you mean there is no way around cutting the fairings? what if i just make something to go where one of the fairing mount screws is? i just hate the thought of cutting the fairings.

yep, frame sliders mount where the motor mounts are and unfortunatly ours are covered by the plastics. I've seen a few done that way, but they don't look very sturdy. If the bike were to go down they look like they would just snap off. The bolt for the slider has to be strong enough to hold the pressure of the bike falling on it. You can always take it to a motorcycle shop and have them do it. If you use a hole saw, you will get a perfect circle, then i'd go to a paint shop and have them put clear around the hole to keep the paint from chipping later on. But for these reasons, I don't have any either
