Default Sand sucks!!

Beautiful day out today....about 85 and a breeze, so I decided to go for a ride and find some new roads. As I was riding down this one winding road, I was goin about 35-40 around a turn, leaning pretty hard, and as soon as I made the turn, part of the pavement on the right side of the road was completey covered in sand. I hit the patch of sand and the back tire started to slide out on me, and my heart jumped into my throat. Managed to save it somehow, but basically my point is SAND SUCKS!!

Glad to hear that you managed to hang on to it! I had the same thing happen to me, but luckily I was going slow enough that all I felt was the rear tire slide a bit - kind of freaked me out though!

I feel ya on the frame sliders! I think i will be ordering me some too.. I think I have decided also, that because I'm short, I will get some of those lowering straps too. Anyone have any info on how they work or make the bike ride??

don't use straps for everyday riding toad, they are meant for the drags as a temp way of lowering. find a good shop and see how much they want to rework your forks to your spec, this way you can still have the performance that won't be dangerous in the twisties.
