So I was sitting on campus the other day getting ready to ride home on my 94 vulcan 500 when a girl on a 07 636 pulled up next to me. Turns out she was in my motorcycle safty class so we started chatting.

Now the thought of this girl on the road horrified me. As of the safety class she had never even driven a stick shift car before and was trying to learn how to ride a bike. i don't think she got above 5 MPH the entire day and almost put the learner 250 down twice. and here she was with a brand new 636... It had of course already been put down by her but hey thats not the point.

After a little bit of chatting i convinced her to let me ride it around the parking lot just to get a feel for it and WOW much different than my little vulcan. from riding position to where the controls were to steering everything was different. I am now torn ladies and gentlemen, I LOVE my vulcan its a great comfortable cruiser that i can ride forever on. But man could I have gotten in some trouble with that 636!!! I think I gotta go for a ride with her one of these weekends and find a open stretch of road and convince her to let me ride again to decide if i really like it or not.

I do think i made the right choice with my vulcan though, I would have definently killed myself by now with one of those things but i would have died with a smile!

yeah man.. i know what ya mean. my first bike was a '95 suzuki savage.

very benign. 650 thumper.. belt drive

pulled hoes like a firefighter (get it! hose.. hoes LOL) but was completely oblivioyus to the phenomenal world that is a high performance bike.

3 years into woning it, i sold the bike and got my first 600. been hooked ever since.

been about 8 now.. still love cruisers, but a sportbike is too addicting to let go of.

 

There is no 07 636. Last year of teh 636 was 2006. If it was a new one it was just a zx6r, 600cc.

with that said, you should not be on a bike period. you can kill yourself on the v too but its all in how you operate it, same with a sport bike. but, rockets get more chicks

I know what you mean but there is much less... Temptation on the Vulcan to see if I can get into triple digits lol. No really im not the kind of guy to do tricks or stupid stuff but i mean that bike just begged to go fast and it would have personally been way too much go for me just starting out.

and this was a week or two ago. its great for freaking people out because there is a divit in the bone of my ocular cavity (whatever thats called) where the butt of the gun just shattered it.

Pretty happy with the end result though guess im still quasi pretty
