The bike can also make more hp because of the temps. Which sometimes is an issue (depending on tune and the rider) if you are not accustomed to the added hp and the above mentioned lack of traction.

You might be able to measure the extra HP on a well calibrated dyno, but you'll never feel it in the real world.

True I guess. Not many people would notice possibly an additional 1-3hp.

I have been caught in the ran a number of times and would never intentionally ride in it. lose of traction is your biggest problem of course, ridding slower solves this problem though.
I guess a stall could occur if you hit a large puddle but worse would be getting water in the intake, your toast if that happens.
Stay home if its raining.

If you get water in the intake you're really out of your depth.

Staying home if it's raining isn't an option for many of us. It's nothing to be scared of.

the only problem i've encountered is water leaking into my sparkplug tubes and shorting #2 out on high speed runs (60+ mph) from the ram-air tubes. it's always the #2 cylinder.. not sure why. after i get all this work done tho, i'll refrain from rain at all cost..lol

i've been up to 120mph, exploring the limits of traction and all and have found theres really minimal losses depending on surface texture and cleanliness.. notto say i'll chance dragging a knee thru my usual high speed sweepers and all in the wet- i alway exercise caution when even the slightest drizzle falls or fog is present.

in normal operation conditions and situations, rain should not adversely affect a bike.

I must be getting old. Got well wet going home yesterday. This morning it started pissing down as I walked out the door. Couldn't be arsed getting the waterproofs on so I got in the car.

Still - got a business trip tmorrow. A 250 mile round trip I don't mind getting dressed up for. Going to work normally the car's actually faster if I've got to get the rain gear out.
