Riders Test

RE: Riders Test
When I think back on the day I did my test, I was nervous as hell because I just showed up at eight O'clock in the morning (that was the cutoff time to begin) without even knowing what the test course looked like. There were five different riding course set-ups that the instructor had us go through, and I was the only one in the group who had not practiced these courses AT ALL![] Most of the other guys had been there since 6am, going through the obstacles in the course again and again. I honestly felt there was no way I was going to pass that day. But surprise surprise! I still passed it! So don't worry so much about it. The rider makes a bigger difference than the bike. Remember that.

I tried the dmv circle on the 10r and it went full lock on the steering... Turn up the idle and use the rear brake to slow it down in the circle. I still need to practice going the other way though.

RE: Riders Test
I can tell you that when I took my test we were all on 250 and 400 DS bikes (see photo album) Oh sure there were a couple of old dudes taking it on 150cc scooters. Then there was a guy on a 250 ninja. We all passed except the guy on the ninja. He had been riding for a few years, but he knocked over a cone in the weave part and had to come back and try it again, and hit the same cone, 3rd I believe, and was out. As I watched him try and maneuver between the cones, I started to notice something. The sports bikes are really designed to lean not turn if that makes sense. So I would recommend taking it on a tall narrow dual sport bike or a scooter. Who cares what you take it on as long as you get the license right?[8D]

RE: Riders Test
You will be fine just practice your cone weaves everything else is easy. My buddy passed it the first time on his CBR600RR. He had only been riding for about a month and a half just be comfortable and take it with your own ride. You don't know how your buddies will handle. You will be ok. If you do not pass at least you know what to work on. Just practice your weaves and maybe you slow roll. Clutch and gas control..... Hey good luck

RE: Riders Test
What's this DMV circle that everyone is talking about? I'm glad we didn't have to do that. All we had were 4 tests.
1.) Cone weave
2.) Quick stop
3.) Right turn and stop in the square
4.) Quick weave
