Ever since amfd got her bike, she's been telling me that she wants my 636 next. So, i might be stepping up to a liter bike come this summer. I would love to have a ZX10, but one of my customers just purchased an 07 R1 and this thing is awesome! The looks and the sound are great. Anyone have any opinions on which one to get?

 

R1 rocks, I do like the Yamhabetter but i have been up close and personal with the ZX10 and it is an awesome bike as well.

It all comes down to personal preference. I have always had a liter bike for the street and loved it.

Really can't go wrong with any of them. ZX-10, R1, Gixxer. All have pretty much the same power and rideablity.

 

The sit test is the best, one of them will feel better to you. Let us know and post some pics of her, the bike!

I have not ridden the R1, but it sure looks sharp edged compared to the smoother/larger looks of the 10r. The *** end of the twin cans on the 10r looks kinda nasty to some, but there is never a complaint of too much heat or body damage from the heat. I would do some R1 forum checking also. Handling wise, I have no complaints with the 10r, but suspension/function is the first thing I mod on a ride. Hit 7k rpm and hold on because the 10r really becomes a fun ride. My .02cts worth on the 10r

edit: I am 5' 8" and the fit is really comfy for me on the 10r. As mentioned, a seat test would be good to know on what fits you.

 

That's another thing. Seat height. I'm 5' 5", you think i can fit the 10R?

 

How tall is Rosi? I am not sure but he looks short and about a bucko5. The profile from a 636 and liter is not much difference any more, sounds like a good excuse to head out to the dealer tomorrow.

 

Once the suspension is set up for either ride, I am sure that you would be able to feel comfy. (as in almost flat footed stops). I think the new R1 will be close to the 10r in hp/tq this year. (after the genesis engine design was eliminated). A tough call. I would like one of each make if I could afford it and not get a divorce because of it. lol
