oil filter location.
I did my first oil change last night and is it just me or did they find the dumbest place to put that damn filter. Now I do understand the whole lack of space thing but geeze, right behind the header. Lets just put more heat on the oil and filter and make it a bitch ot get off. Sorry about the rant, but it just seems stupid to me. O'well it was a good excuse for me to go 3x the posted speed limit of 45mph [sm=happy046.gif]
i know thats not fast for alot of you, buts its a personal best for me.

RE: oil filter location.
You got that right!
My first one I took off didn't have a hex head on it either. Sure was a real mother to get off. I used a screw driver and poked a few holes in it before I was done. I did finally get it and replaced it with one that you could do with a wrench.
If you use a screw driver, just be careful of the threaded post that the filter screws on to. Poke the screw driver underneath or over the center threaded post. I can't remember which worked better, pretty sure it was over the top?

I've had to do this with a few cars so I know how to do it but its still a bitch. I had a 12in prybar and i put it towards the end of the filter right under one of the grooves and just a few smacks it loosened, thank god. I normally don't believe in the oil filter wrench, b/c i have strong hands, but there isn't any room to get in there so I'll probably be getting a wrench. I think i'm going to get the plier sytle wrench, b/c i'm hopiing it will fit my rear shock adjustment rings
