Newbie in bikes?

Get a 250 and learn to ride it before starting to mod a ZX10.

You're looking at a short life, although probably a happy one lol.

Vette, seriously, if I had started with a bike in my 20's, with 175 rwhp, I'd have been dead before 30. If you're new to bikes (which are different than big HP on 4 wheels) you will need unusual self-discipline to NOT do stupid crap. It's like earning your pilot's license in a F-22 instead of a Cessna. William, Drag, and the other folks on here are not just "posturing" when we rub our chins and see danger coming your way. Make DAMN sure you gear up when you ride, OK? We want you to stick around awhile.

I agree with jeffzx9. A 175hp sportbike can be a lot of fun, but it can be extremely dangerous too. I owned 4 bikes before getting my ZX6R, and I was floored at the difference in power. I used to think that I wanted the fastest bike I could get my hands on, but I could never afford one. Thank god! I am a lot different now in my 30's then I was in my 20's, and even now I'm not sure I could handle the bike you just bought. But, I'm not you, and you've already got it. A friend of mine at work bought an '08 R6. He had never ridden a streetbike before. The first day he brought it to work, he lost control and crashed while trying to park it. Now he is scared to drive it.
My advice to you would be this. Get a full leather suit, back protector, gloves, helmet and boots. Find a track that has a sportbike school, and sign up. Do this before you ride that ZX10R. Or, go and buy a smaller bike to ride. Just be very, very careful, and give the bike the respect it deserves. Be smart. Good luck.

I was curious vette about what you said earlier about being a good driver, so I did check youtube for your video clips. I am more worried now, then I was before I saw the videos. It was nice knowing you, but if you continue doing what you have been, especially on the bike, I'm afraid you will not be alive for much longer. Go on youtube and watch some bike crashes every time before you ride. It can happen at any time, to any one of us. I hope you survive your new toy, and wish you all the best.
