Default Need some advice

Hello folks...new here and only been riding since March. I had a Ninja 250 and really liked it. Against advice of some I went to a Ninja 500 and not quite liking it so much. I'm thinking I was not ready to move up and shouldl have listened. Should I go back to to a 250 or just get used to the 500?[&:]I have a chance coming up for a cruisder 250 or a sport model.
Thanks
Sherry

What is it you dont like the weight, riding position, power? If its too fast and scares you mabey move back down for a while especially if you have the chance or take the 500 somewhere safe to practice and see if you get more comfortable, its no fun to get in a situation where your scared and intimidated on the street. Welcome to KF

It's mostly in my turns. I don't think I've gotten used to more power yet when I am turning from a stop. I went on some back streets yesterday and felt better after I was done. Think I will stick with the 500 and just practice on it. There is a big stadium by my house...I'll go in the parking lot this weekend . Thanks for the answers

Whatever you feel is right for you im sure you will get used to it but if its intimidating still after a good college try remember sometimes its way more fun to wring the neck of a smaller bike than to hafta baby a big one and since you are still new to this wonderful sport it can help you keep your mind on what YOU need to do rather than wondering what the bikes gonna do. Good luck and im sure you pick whats right for you

OK, figured it out. I cannot make a sharp turn from a stop. The forks hit the radiator and force me into a wider turn. I could make a sharp turn on the 250. Do most sport bikes not let you make a sharp turn?
Thanks
Sherry

Sharp turns are hazardous generally. The msf is a great course to take and ask these questions. On a side note, countersteering and body position help with the ride at speed.

I took the msf course in Feb. and they make you do turns from a stop. I think I just need to used to it. I'll hit the parking lot over the weekend...Thanks again

I know what your feeling in the turns. For my first bike i hah a Katana 600. I had that bike for three months. That bike was fun but i wanted to go faster. So then i went out and bought a zx10 and man i will tell you the weight was so much different and the handling was so different that i would have to say was a bit nerves to turn the bike. I have had the bike for about 6 months and i am still trying to get used to it. Plus i had alot of problums with the 600 the forks were bent and the rim was bent so i really had to throw the bike down to tyrn it. and now that i got a bike that i dont have to do that with i will over turn the bike. but the best thing i would have to say is to put the confidence and trust in the bike. And you need to trust yourself as well. well i wish you the best of luck and ride safe.
