Need help making a tank cam mount for a digital camera.
Has anyone here ever used a digital camera as a tank cam?
I would be interested in using my digital camera on video record mode, or buy one of those cheap flash memory camcorders I've seen at walmart and target for around $100. My digital camera has the threaded hole on the bottom to mount on a tripod, So I just need a setup that could use that mount point.
If any of you guys (or girls) have any suggestions for this, I would luv to hear from you.

Would storage be an issue with your camera? MPEG?

No, I have a GB memory card so I could record 13 minutes of DVD quality, and almost 50 minutes of standard quality. And yes, it records in MPEG.

There are a few mounts that look pretty good on that site. The only thing I don't care for about the gas cap mount is that putting it on, and taking it off would be a b*tch! I'm thinking that if I buy a tankbag, (want one anyway) I could also double it up as some sort of mount too. Just need to find the right type of bag.

I gotcha....WHat someone needs to make is a tank bag with a mount built into it for a camera. YOu should make one. I'd buy it!

they have some desent cap mounted camera mounts on e bay for like 30 bucks. wouldnt be that hard to make one tho. get a backpack mark.

You mean tankbag? I already have the icon squad.
I plan on it at some point. The gas cap camera mount won't work on my KZ, since there are no exterior screws. I would like to be able to mount it up to any of my current, and future bikes.

MY BUDDY HAS A GAS CAP MOUNT THAT HE USES ON TRACK DAYS AND IT IS REALLY STABLE. HE JUST LEAVES THE MOUNTING BRACKET ON ALL THE TIME IT'S NOT REALLY IN HIS WAY. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED I'LL FIND OUT WHERE HE GOT THE BRACKET AND WHAT KIND OF CAMERA HE USES.
