So is it considered bad form to ride while listening to a mp3 player? I totally understand that you need to keep the volume to a reasonable level so that you can hear traffic around you etc...
I've been considering purchasing a set of in-helmet speakers/headphones......

I think it's a bad idea to listen to music while riding in town, but on the highway I can't see it being that big of a problem.

I know in florida your allowed to listen to music but you cant have the head phones in your ears. you can have them taped inside the helmet have them a centimeter out of your ear bla bla bla but cant have them in your ear. You should be fine if you leave one in and the other one out.

It is legal here in NV. I have two friends that do it all the time. However you got to be careful, one of them just eat it a stop light because he was rocking out to the song he was listening to. He is kind of a tard.

I agree! There's a reason some sports cars don't have stereos!

I live in Ft. Myers and I wear these when I ride, http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/chmisearph.html with my iPod or a Walkman. I sometimes ride with 2 deputys and they say nothing about being illegal.

I've been using the earphones for a couple of years now with no problems. Granted you shouldn't be jamming real loud. Shouldn't do that in your car either. But with my earphones I can still hear what's going on around me. It's like driving your car with the windows up and the tunes going.

When I did the anacortes run this year, used my ipod. Basically it is less db cancelling than wearing ear plugs which are not illegal.
