damn...where I live, you can leave your keys in the ignition. I actually leave them in my truck, but I take them out ofmy bikes. In fact, alot of people I know around here always leave their keys in their vehicles. But, if I do hear anything su****ious, Im armed to the hilt.
Same where i live. but I'm too close to campus and learned the hard way that a low crime area isnt all its cracked up to be. I always lock up now. Who takes the faceplate off a 3 year old walmart special stereo anyway?

well if I lived by a campus I wouldnt leave the keys in it no matter what, but around here, lets put it this way...I have had my s10 for like 6 years now and the key has never came out of the ignition.

My first bike was definitely a sweet&bitter experience. Got the bike up and running only to find myself fighting the DMV for three months to get it titled. I kind of miss those days of illegally riding that thing around. lol

Thankee EMS! Just went to a local bike store and picked up a lock for her... (my friend Shawn's bike was stolen out of the same complex) and I'm waiting to hear back from the seller.
Best theft deterrent system; loud alarm and Remington 870 with slugs [sm=shootshoot.gif]
HAHAHA!! Awesome. I haven't fired a gun or rifle in about two years. I need to jump back into that after I get my bike finances settled.

Wow, that's sweet. I used to live in a place like that (Rosepine, Louisiana). People left their doors open, to their houses even, all night to circulate air. Now I live in a really ghetto-ish neighborhood in Dallas. My friend Shawn lives across the apartment complex, and I don't feel safe walking across it to his place at night. I get harassed by a few people every time I do it alone, asking if I want to come inside, or if I want to have sex with them, or do drugs, or buy something that's obviously stolen. I'm not kidding either. (Though the $20 hookup for free cable sounded tempting, but meh, I don't need TV anyway.)
As I've mentioned in other posts, Shawn's bike was stolen from this very complex, and it destroyed him. His bike was his true mistress, his love, his obsession. It's quite sad, actually. He decided to retire from riding altogether, started huffing and drinking nonstop, and I had to help him come down from it. All of this was about 2 weeks ago, too. Now a family member of his died and I don't know if he's going to come through all this without being broken.

Anywhoo; digressing...
I haven't heard from the seller yet, but I've been having issues with Yahoo! mail lately. A friend of mine didn't recieve several e-mails I'd sent till 24 hours after, so I'm hoping that's the case here. In the last e-mail I included my contact info, but haven't recieved a call or e-mail back yet, so here's to hoping the system is just being slow/wonky. It'd really suck if he sold it to someone else and just decided to ignore me, y'know?

I had nearly a head squik moment... didn't hear from the seller in a few days, he'd removed his ad from Craigslist, and actually looked at other bikes today. (They were bad.) I came home, dejected, to find an e-mail in my inbox. Apparently he's been super busy, but the bike is still mine! I can pick her up sometime next week, and the title is good. <squirms and wiggles like a happy puppy>

Sorry for posting so much, but I'm just so excited. Tomorrow, tommorow, tommorow! I'm looking at her tommorow evening!!! <runs around in happy circles> Weeee! I've got the seller's number and info, and the title is being cleared this week. MINE. He removed the ad from Craigslist because he decided she's mine!
