Slid about 40 feet. I had myCL-15 Crypthelmet locked down on the side, so the only damage to the bike was on the front left of the upper fairing (broke off a good piece of the turn signal cover), the side/centerstand, and the engine cover. The footpeg plate actually snapped in two, I adhesived it back together so I could easily shift from neutral to first and back again while I'm making a small effort to fix it back up. I'moffering it as a parts bike in the for sale section if anyone wants to buy it, make an offer above 800 and the bike is yours. I actually just figured out I wouldn't be able to store it after mid December anyway andI don't feel like renting a garage for it at a storage facility.

I didn't have a scratch (or any discomfort at all really), but I can slide pretty well. My denim jeans are destroyed at the knee. My Icon leg armor issomewhat scratched on the knees and top of the shins, but I still feel comfortable wearing these 65 dollar pieces in the future and feel they're still good for a 70 mph slide, that's a real testament to them. A couple of scratches surfaced on my Joe Rocket Meteor boots' side latches. One little blemish formed on the forearm of my Joe Rocket Reactor Jacket. My Joe Rocket Pheonix gloves aren't even scratched. I slid face down on my knee pads and helmet's (RF1000) chin piece (full face really does have a purpose) since I didn't have any butt protection and didn't want to ruin my jacket or my *** (along with the other pieces which would be damaged in all likelihood anyway).

Both my HJC CL-15 Crypt and my Shoei RF-1000 Helmet are toast. I just bought the Shoei helmet today. Am I dissapointed? Nah, the laydown taughtme a lot more about the bike's limits than regular riding ever will.I'm sure I'll need to explore those limits at some time or another to get myself out of serious trouble. Hopefully I'll be able to make enough money someday to make up for the remaining cost of this bike and the personal equipment I damaged.

The slide was on an asphalt road, somewhat older and filled with pebbles.

Engine fired up with first try and no choke; The scraped engine cover is leaking oil out of the bike when the motor is on, a new gasket should fix it, but a cover may be needed also

Transmission shifts, but the engine dies as soon as the clutch is let into its friction zone while the tranny is in gear (Anyone know what could be causing this?)
