Looking at purchasing a new 250f but first there's a few things I need to know
So I live in Ontario and right now the dealers have the KX250Fs reduced from $8699 to $6099 since it's a 2013 for sale in winter, I'd really like to buy one of these bikes for woods riding and trails out and around my camp in the spring summer and fall but I heard that even though I won't be racing it I'll have to change the oil every five hours and and I'll have to adjust the valves and do top end work every 40 hours which isn't something I'm looking forward too so my question is, is this true? I do my own work and I'm sure I can learn how to adjust valves but it's not something I want to do every 15-40 hours and if I have to change the oil every 5-8 hours I'm sure that could become quite expensive so what do you guys think?

Here's a link to the KLX service manual with all the service intervals.

Welcome to KF.
I don't have a definitive answer for you. I'm a four-stroke dual-sport guy and have never dealt with the racier bikes. I'd think if you were not racing, the oil change interval could be lengthened. But that's just trying to be logical.
