Even though the little Ninja will never be as fast as larger bikes, I like many of you am always interested in making what I have go faster. I have been involved as an owner, rider and tuner of several National land speed bikes over the years and several of them have been Kawasakis. I did a ZX-12R Turbo back in 2003 that went 218mph and also a nitrous ZX-10 that went over 202mph in 2005.

For 2008 I turned my attention toward the smallest Ninja and I am happy to say that as far as we can tell from looking through the record books that you are looking at the fastest open wheel, gasoline powered, 4 stroke 250 in the world. Of course there are faster streamliner, Nitrous or turbo bikes and 2 strokes. But the little Ninja is a 4 stroke street bike and we kept it that way.

The first shot below is just the bike alone and then below that is the bike crossing the finish line at the ECTA/Maxton (East Coast Timing Association) land speed event on October 25th 2008 where we set the record of 111.30421mph. And for those of you not familiar with Maxton it is a standing start one mile course. www.ecta-lsr.com

Zack Millholland of Tennessee was the Jockey for the bike and he is a fellow 200mph club member as well. Actually Zack is member#30 to that exclusive club which only has a total of 95 members (EVER).

The entire engine was built and dyno tuned by Chris Hill at Performance Psycle in Knoxville Tennessee.

Oh yeah, just an article I found so I thought I would post it for the 250 riders. And no I did not build it! Those 250's are too scary for me!

 

agreed, right on! I want a 250. We do not have that standing mile opportunity around here. I bet I am getting closer NA on my 10r though on the 200mph goal.
