honestly, i think deej is onto something..... other than the tusty/dented tank, the murderd seat, the rusty pipe and leaky forks.. youre not to far from a killer retro

sounds like a fun project you got there. I'm sure it will be a nice looking retro when you get it all done. keep us up to date on the progress with it

Wow...that picture of the (restored?) KE250 is really something. I am afraid the one I got is lightyears away from that one now! I just scrubbed the crud that was stuck on both rims where they were buried in sandy soil for who knows how long. This resulted in patches where metal erosion has pocked the metal. Although most of this should clean off relatively good, you can't replace aluminum that is eaten away by electrolysis. I am finishing up a 1970 Yamaha CT1B (175cc) right now. Maybe in a week or two I can take some time to make a better evaluation of the KE250's condition & what to do. However, if anyone out there wants to take this one on, post me via PM...
