insurance blues!
dear kf, wow after 20years,i decided to hit the wind again,kids grown up i hit the wall with insurance prices!im getting anywhere from 870-1200 for a 2007 zzr600! own crib ,married,no violatiions 3years,plus 2 kryptonite locks,rhode island been riding on off on 36 years?i cant believe it!only way is liability only down to 300 but will shaft myself if anything happens bad, any suggestions,help,tref

$80.00 a year through Geico for both bikes together and I got $25,000/$50,000/300,000 liability. Screw full coverage, if you live through a wreck you won't care about the bike. Insurance on a bike is for the car you hit, the store front window you go through or the guy crossing the street that you just ran over. Why are people wasting money on full coverage on bikes. I mean they are like hamsters, if you total one and walk away, you can just go to the shop and get another one. Take the money you would have spent on full coverage, bank it, collect interest, and its there in case you need it but its not thrown away to some high priced insurance company. Don't even get me started on Lawyers and real estate agents.[:@]

dear kf's i love it! you guys got me lol ,but in rhode island things suck,and Hoedogg is correct in a financing deal ,have to insure all year out of the 6-7 months i ride! PROGRESSIVE IS the worse it was 1379.00 with kryptonite locks, took 20 off if i got active alarm LOJACK,BIG DEAL,I passed.i will shop around is right!because i need to ride and ride i'mgonna this year even if i got to borrow from a loan shark. i'm putting 5000 down only need 1500 plus 700 dmv, love dat place. i do thank you all for your help ,

I bought my zzr (financed), insured through progressive for $60 a month at 26 years old. After 1.5 years it dropped to $29 a month. Did you go through the website or some local dude trying to make some money from you?
