I should be dead...
Alright, so i was on the way to tafe yesterday, it was about 9:00 am, so the roads were busy with parents dropping off thier kids to school. I was going 74Kph (45.98Mph)along a fairly busy street. As i was comming up to a busy intersection, i was about 1 car length away from the line as the lights turned orange, so i kept going through, much to my dismay, a lady tried beating the red light, and floored it trying to make her turn across in front of me... she must not have seen me, cause she pulled right out in front of me... needless to say i absolutely slammed on the brakes, i ended up monoing into the side of her car at about 65Kph (40.39Mph) as i wasnt left much room to stop. As i monoed into the side of her car, i remember the window breaking in my face, and then i was thrown into a superman stance over the top of her car... i landed about 5 metres away, then rolled a farther 5 metres, then jumped up and ran off the road. I am extremely lucky in a way, there was a off duty nurse, doctor, paramedic and an off duty cop all witness the accident, and started to perform some of thier "routines" on me. As i was laying on the footpath someone rolled my bike over near me... I burst out crying. My sexy machine was an absolute wreck. And i was doing extremely well to own a ZX6R at my age (18) The ambulance came soon later, and i was carefully taken to the hospital, When we got there i was X-Rayed head to toe. They discovered i had a disslocated, fractured and broken wrist, as well as major bruising, no skin left on either knee, and cuts and abrasions... i was then put under so they could pop my wrist back into place, and then cleaned my wounds. when i woke i was in a half cast, and a lot of pain. i was then sent to have a CAT scan to verify the bone was back into place. i have just got home to find my bike in the trailer still in a million pieces(my dad brought it home for me) so i decided i would show you guys what condition the bike is in compared to me.
I hope this will not put people off riding cause it certainly hasnt for me, i just hope people will be aware that anything can come out in front of you at anytime, and to leave plenty of stopping distance.
I also forgot to mention, i have to go back next week to get a pin and screw put into my wrist. and cant work for 3 months.

RE: I should be dead...
That's really sad. Hope you're back out there riding again soon and having fun. At least you survived it and you'll be able to ride again. It's too cold to ride where I am now but I'll be back out there once the temperatures start getting above freezing again. Good Luck and thanks for thewarning.

Damn dude... the impact must have been major and quite focused - look at the way the frame next to the starboard intake is caved in. That's pretty hard to do as it is probably one of the strongest parts of the frame. Glad you are ok. Did the woman get cited and found at fault for failure to yield right of way?

Really glad to see you are okay. It really ticks me off that people don't pay attention but I guess it comes with riding. I hope the lady that hit you gets some kind of punishment. Feel better soon!

Thanks heaps guys, i dunno what is happening to the woman yet, but i do know she was having a laugh with the cops after the accident, so she wasnt hurt or anything. I am hoping she will lose her job (as it was a company car, Repco) but i doubt it will happen. I do know the cops have determined she was at fault for not giving way. And BTW i was wearing gear, just not the pants... The helmet saved my life, and the jacket helped too, it has some marks and such on it. My shoes got torn to shreds.
