What is going to be the intended use of the bike? Since you have done your homework, the extra cc's are nice to have. The price and condition of the 636 is then the determining factor. Good luck.

 

i went to see the 05 and and 06 636 today and they look good, cant really tell if they were beat on or not.....but the o5 is black and comes with a 2bros exhaust the dual one which is the one that i wanted. i think its like 800 js for the slip on so that was good. i think he said hi 6's with 2500 miles, is that good? and the o7's are brand new for 7900? iono its hard to decide

 

if its a good find on the used, get it but keep in mind your not going to get a good rate financing a used bike like you would with a new one.

I'd go used, but Drag's right; it depends on what your intended use is. Commuter? Toy? Track weapon?
I like "bikes in a box," myself. There are some great wrecks out there just waiting to be resurrected. But, you gotta know what you're buying and how thedots connect. I wouldn't recommend this approach for a first time buyer, however.
