Hi all,
I'm new to the sightl, but I've long had a kawasaki, trouble is it been in bit for the last 13 year. I have a early GPZ750 1980 twin shock version. The engine was in a sorry state, so I started to rebuild it 13 years ago. Its now sitting in my dads garage collecting dust. I'm looking to get it back on the road but I just want to put in a second hand engine.
The engine was an air cooled, oil cooled in line 4, very much like the Z750 of its day. Now these engines are probably difficult to get hold off, what I would like to know is could I put into the same frame a Z750 engine or something bigger? that might be easier to get?

Cheers.

Welcome to KF!
Anything you find that will fit the frame will probably be from the same era and therefore difficult to find in good condition. If I were you I would finish the rebuild on the old engine, at least you know what you have on that one. If you tried to swap motors you will probably end up spending about what it would cost to buy a running one. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

yeah, most likely the same era. Like a KZ engine if you are not comfortable on your engine rebuild. If you are comfortable with your rebuild, stay with the same engine.
