Maybe cheaper??

If you've gone through the stage of being bored with the 250 and passed on to realising how much fun it really is you won't have much trouble with the step up.
If you haven't reached the stage of really enjoying the power of the 250 then you're not ready.
You'll find the bigger bike an uncomfortable and unwieldly lump for a couple of hours, then you'll forget about it. The main problems are that if you want to use the bike every day, you'll find it uncomfortable for long trips, clumsy in heavy traffic, and if you try to do 160 mph in normal 'on road' riding, please assign your life insurance policy to me first.
Practise wheelies, stoppies, full lock figure eights, getting your knee down and extracting the maximum power and speed. Once you've done all that and mastered the full capability of the bike, don't do most of those things again except in an emergency situation or on the track.

Congrats on the job. Not really sure about the outgrowing of the bike comment yet. I enjoy riding my EX500 and have not outgrown that. Sometimes I wish it had some more steam to it and the suspension is not all that tuneable. Think about the middleweights later on when the insurance is more affordable for ya in a couple more yrs.
