Default FUELING BOX/EXHAUST QUESTIONS

I have an 05 ZX-12R that I would like to add a fueling and possibly a timing box to. My bike is a street bike that I like to go fast on in the straights. I'm not much of a road racer. I would like opinions from other bike owners who have installed these boxes on their bikes as to which one to get, how they work, Etc. I see Techlusion makes a fueling only box, Cobra makes a fueling only box and Dynojet makes the Power Commander and the Dynojet ignition box. Which brand is best? Which unit is the easyest to install, the most factory looking and has the best quality. What kind of performance boost can I expect? Should I only use the fueling box, the timing box, or should I use both the timing and fueling units?

I would like to also ask about after market exhaust systems and bolt on mufflers. I like the quite sound of the stock exhaust. If I install a system or a bolt on after market muffler, I want one that is not much louder than stock. How much actual performance (Bang for the buck) can I expect from an aftermarket exhaust system/muffler?

Thank you in advance for your replies!

Good luck. Although the PC is by far the most popular in FI mapping with stock or aftermarket exhausts. Kinda like using Windows as your puters operating system. There are more tuners setup for the PC.
I was told do not worry about using the ignition module unless you have a modded engine. As in cams, head work, that kind of thing.
Stock exhausts weigh a ton! So the diet itself proves beneficial but you already know that. I heard that the Akra's are pretty tame in tone down low but start to screech in the upper revs.

When you say the "PC" ones, are you refering to the Power Commander?

Akra's as in Akropovic systems.
Although I like the full Muzzy systems.
The can material will make a different tone as well.

So the best way to go is a full system VS a bolt on muffler?

If you only want a couple extra ponies and the tone, a slip on is fine. There is a little weight savings but not much.
A full system, you would definitely need to tune things up FI wise, but it will give you more kick in the pants power. So the bottom end tq lets say is now not as hefty but the top end is maybe a little better. You have a 12, so it has a pretty good bottom end to begin with.

I'm mainly interested in HP/torque, not tone. As I said I like Quiet exhausts in my old age. The factory exhaust sounds great. I do not like the sport bikes that sound like an airplane going down the road. Their a cop attractor also.

ok, to me quiet and tone fall in next to each other on the spectrum. Then there is loud and tone.
That make any sense? lol

An aluminum can will sound tinnier and raspier while a c/f can will be a little deeper toned.
