It has prolly been repainted. Get the frame and the engine numbers written down.

The year is in the vin number, take the vin to a dealer and they should be able to tell you

 

Looks close to a 1990 or 1991. Is it a 125 or a 250?

look on the engine, up and left of the kickstart, there should be a bunch of #'s and letters. within the first few it will say something like this (using my old kx as an ex.)

i still have the bottom end of my bike now that i think about it, when the sun comes up ill take a pic of the actual engine id# so you know exactly where it is
