Difference's between bikes..
So im a new rider, and looking to buy a smaller 250R just to get some riding experience under my belt.
I have many people telling me that ill be waisting my time and money with a 250R street bike cause Ill get bored of it with in the first month or so.
Should I just get the 600R or do the 250R as planned, I think I could handle the 600R cause I have common sense with a clean driving record. Im 29 and been driving a car since I was 16, buy a bike is different I understand. I just dont want to make the wrong decision.
Is there any years I should stay away from???
Oldest I would like is a 02 Ninja and newer.....
Thanks guys.

imo get the 250r and ride the hell out of it refine your skills and enjoy a bike that is more forgiving than a 600 can be. master that 250 and sell it there will be another person out there like your self learning how to ride and will take it off your hands

It only makes sense, thanks for your input

You'll learn more, learn it better, and learn it faster on a 250. Most of the riders who start on bigger bikes spend so much time trying to ride slow enough to be safe that they never learn to ride properly.
If you start to get bored on a 250, it's a sign that you haven't learned to ride it properly, so getting a bigger bike is totally the wrong thing to do.
If you do a lot of 2-up or highway riding you'll need a bigger bike eventually, but nothing beats a 250 for fun, except perhaps a 2-stroke 125.

No problem with a 250. As has been said, learn to ride that one. There is alot to learn when starting to ride. A 250 can get you a ticket very easily. Will it keep up with a 600? depends, in some twisties, a good rider on a 250 can take a poor rider on a 600. The 250 handles very nicely.
I actually started on an XL100, so I do think Deej has a good point. If you drop a sportsbike, you can damage some plastic, a KLX, who cares

Ok im not the person to sit and bash other bikes, but under my OWN preference I dont like the style of a KLX but that is me.
I love the looks and comfort of a sports bike.
As all you guys said I think im just gonna look into a 250R then...
Should I buy a used one or a brand new one? I really like the looks of a 08 but I cant seem to find one plus I only want green no questions asked.
