I guess I'm flattered; I'm an old dude, and I have a sport bike...

Andy. Honestly I have not counted the crashes. Been riding Harleys, Honda's, Kawi's, and Yami's since 1977. Some cruisers, some muscle rides and some ninja's. All good fun.

I'm looking at the fact of how if I have money it won't matter if I'm dead, but then again my dad never crashed when he had a sport bike, and he went 160 regularily. Oh my god, never thought of my dad as a rebel!

I was looking around at sports cars and stuff, and I've made my decision. I'm going to have a normal car, preferably a Chrysler 300C for everyday use, then a Kawasaki for fun, if you know what I mean.

Thanks a lot guys, I appriciate it.

Hey Andy, buy whatever you want. Take the saftey course. You'lll probably go through a bunch of bikes in the years to come till you settle on one type.

The question is why do you want the bike. Do you want one to relate to your dad, impress the ladies, look cool in front of your friends, go fast, or because you like the bike and the freedom it gives you. Your bike should be about you and noone else, go sit on them all and pick one that suits you. It doesnt matter what other people think, or really what bike you choose (Some are easier to learn on that others but if you control the throttle you can handle it) The only thing that matters is that you have a connection with your ride.

I have only been riding for about two or three months so i know what your going through andymilner. Im 21 and i can honestly say if i got a sports bike i would probably really hurt myself. Im not a thrillseeker who is gonna be poppin wheelies or doing stoppies and other crazy stuff but man if i could twist that throttle and go from zero to 120 with no effort... im not mature enough for that power or experienced enough for that.

I agree with what a few people have said about the safety course its pretty important just to get comfortable on a motorcycle. I already put my bike down once i was going around a turn at night a little to fast and there was sand on the road and the bike slid right out from under me. Without that course i would have probably tried to fight it and really hurt myself. It was a good thing it happend though I was getting way to comfortable and not really respecting the fact that i was on a bike and not in a cage.

Buy a used bike that u can mess up and not have to cry about. Im not making payments and didn't mess anything up really so I haven't lost any sleep over it, but if I had at least im not paying for a hunk of scrap. Just my two cents good luck man
