Considering my new exhaust

Considering my new exhaust
Well, I'm not buying it right away, but I'd love opinions. I was dead set sold on the akrapovic bolt on, but now I'm not sure so I put it to you all. It's for my 99 zx-6r. I'm guessing ZZrick could help me since he's got the same bike. I want something kinda throaty and loud. But, not uber loud. I just heard a clip of a two-brothers and it sounded kinda badass. A bit more throaty than the Akra, but I don't really like the look of it as much as the akra. Help me out here. And feel free to throw in other suggestions, as well. Really I'd like to be sold on it before I buy it, basically. I'm not worried too much if it's *too* loud because I'll likely just wear earplugs. It's more for other people to know I'm there anyways. But, I really like a deep tone. Suggestions. Comments. Thanks guys.

RE: Considering my new exhaust
from what I hear, twobros is loud, as well as D&D. I don't know much about the dif companies and sounds.
I have a leo vince and it's pretty awesome. My bike is an '05 ZX6R, and i dunno if they even make leo pipes for yours, but they prob do. I dunno man, look around at online shops and see what they have there. There are alot of companies out there selling exhaust.
Too loud could be a prob however, since cops may hassle you. *shrugs* Also, if you take girls on the back of ur bike, they might not like it as well. Just another thing to think about. =p

I am going with the scorpion CF slip on, the old lady is getting it for me this christmas. My brother has one on his gsxr and it is awesome. sounds great, looks great, and deals with the heat better. Scorpion also pays 50% of the replacement cost if you ever lay the bike down and damage it.

To add to my previous post...
Check out indysuperbikes.com, they seem to have the best price on exhaust and awesome customer service/support. I have not heard the scorpion on one of our bikes, but on my brothers it sounds very much like the 600's I heard at the Supersport race this year. If you go with a slip-on, be aware that you will have to cut the stock exhaust to replace the mid-pipe on our bikes. So if you can weld, or have someone around that can weld (professionally)that is a plus.

I've been listening to some sounds. I do like the scorpion sound but I don't know if I really want to go through the welding. The Akra and Two-Brothers both come in bolt-on iterations which is nice because I can bolt it right up to the stock flange. I can't weld. Never even attempted it. I have family who can weld, but I was really more interested in getting this all done by myself. The Scorpion has a sweet sound to it. It's really kickass when it hits the higher RPMs, but the two-brothers isn't all that far off. The Akra actually seems quite a bit quieter in the higher revs if I'm going by the sound clips. The only thing I don't like about the two-brothers is the carbon fiber canister option because it looks cheesy. And I was looking at getting carbon fiber because it'd match my bike best. Maybe I'll just go with the titanium or aluminum and be done with it. That akra would've looked sweet in the carbon fiber though. I can get the two-brothers cheaper.. By a hundred bucks or so, which is nice... GAR. Decisions decisions.

If you get the scorpion bolt-on you don't have to weld. I just like that option because I can get more for my money because I am replacing the mid-pipe as well. Most of the pipes you have mentioned are pretty good, except for d&d, I think they are cheaply made and appear not to be engineered as well as the others. I don't think you can go wrong with Akro, Yosh, Two bros, Scorpion, etc, etc.

Agreed.. I've also considered that the bolt-on would be good for tickets. If I get a ticket for noise I may be able to get it written off by just switching to the stock muffler and taking it to the cop shop. If it's welded on I wouldn't have that option.

My buddy runs a D+D and it's obnoxiously loud to the point you don't want to ride beside or behind him, besides muzzys and kawis go together nicely.I'm swapping out my kerker for the muzzy this winter
