Belt final drive
#11
Belt drives are quieter, cleaner and generally as tuff if not tuffer than chains, that is why I asked the origional question that started this thread, "why did Kawi drop the use of belts on the en500"? I have owned two HD's with a total of 66,000 mi. between them and two Boss Hoss BHC-3's with the 385 hp. ZZ4 motors, with 44,000 mi. between those. I have had absolutly zero problems, and adjustments for stretch and pully wear is far less than for a chain and sprockets. Todays belts can carry LOTS of hp and torque.

as is the buell 1125r at 146hp

import duties probably make them a bit expensive over there, I like buells alot. some real nice design features like the frame is the fuel tank to lower center of mass.
I'd like to sell my old 95 zx6r for a buell xb9 lightning next year.

We see Buells as tuned Harleys, and we don't like them, so we don't see many. If we want big V-twin sports bikes we buy Italian. Otherwise it's Japanese or Triumphs, with BMWs for riders who don't really understand what a bike is..
