Anti-lock brakes mandated for motorcycles?

I locked the front rolling up to a stoplight a little hot, spotting a patch of rough pavement and knowing i had to slow it down faster or risk a wipeout. instinctually as soon as the wheel locked I released the brake and reaplied. never lost any control.

I have two bike with ABS, and if I could have got it without it I would, Thankfully I can turn mine off, as if you ride off road ABS SUCKS, you will not be able to stop, it sucks, on my 650 I have disabled it, on the 1150 you have to turn it off when you go off road, I have taken a couple trips out through the sage brush ( thank heavens it was not a cliff) because on loose dirt the ABS will not stop you very fast.
Sorry not a Fan of ABS on bikes.
