slow jets are still gummed up and or the adjustment is off. 10 minutes is not long at all even using pressurised air to dry the parts out.

I soak overnight normally then using a brush and air hose every part is cleaned.

Which bike are you referring too? A zr-7? I am not sure on that sensor just yet. What did you find in the fiche for your bike? That should help you out some until your manual shows up.

Wouldn't use too much starting fluid. It works fine for a "quick start," but if you know you have fuel delivery problems which make using fluid the only way to get running, FIX the problems before you create more by using fluid. It dissipates the oil in your cylinders, which is NOT what you want when pistons are doing their job.
+1^ Drag; still gunk in carbs.

did as you said cleaned carbs better and then took the tops off and found that the air hole was covered buy the legs of the spring holder.the one that looks like a table and the spring sets in it.the bike started ,one last quetion is this the air /fuel mixture screws are hidden should i take the cover off and adjust then or just leave them. ,the bike does have a muzzy pipe, and the needles are not stock,1&4 are on thread 3 and 2&3.are on thread 2 the adjustment screw covers are still on,bike runs just thought i may need to take care of this to run better, thanks .motor

I would pop those sheetmetal plugs off of the air/fuel adjusters while you have things apart. Check and document how many turns out they are in your manual for reference.

heres' one more question these carbs have this sensor on the side of them ,i don;t know if this is an isuue or not. i do need a battery on this but went i jump the bike with a box or bike to bike ,the bike run;s until i take the cable off then you can see the lights and tach go dead and then the bike,is this due to this sensor.acting like fuel injection??

You still have not answered on what ride you have exactly. I would not think that the sensor you are questioning would kill the instrument and ignition power.
