Welcome to the KF family. It all depends on what you want to do with the bike. Plan on riding on the streets more then any thing go with the 636. Be careful of that front wheel it will come up on you. Had my 636 up to 172 mph. I guess I am partial to the 636. All around good bike.

RE: 636 vs 07' ZX-6R
Reviews on the new 6R highlight how "track worthy" it is ... which means it is a high-reving sensitive bike. The 636, without being any less capable, is more of anall-around...er. If you are not planning on squeezing every bit of power, go with a 2006636 ... specially because at this point the price difference should be over $1,200.
If you need to have the newest-lattest bike, go with a green 2007 6R.
Cheers,

I'd be tempted to play with the new (07) 6r. That way I could enter the class for track use that I would want. I am still reviewing it and being in its first year of major changes have not decided.
The 636 has been proven for the streets and according to the majority is a great ride.

I was a little disappointed with the new 6R. I know it's supposed to be more "track worthy", but 95% of these bikes will never see a track. I'm sure the 636 would be much better all around.
