2010 KLX 250s top speed?
I did a quick search, but that turned up nothing really. I am trying to find what the top speed of the 2010 KLX 250S is. I have read some posts about older models being capable of the low 80's on the freeway, but I am only looking for it to do 65-70mph. Not much of a speed demon when it comes to freeway driving, and am just looking for a bike that I can use to get from work and back, without having to take the car.
I was looking at DRZ400's, but after test riding my buddies DRZ, I think I'd rather get something like the KLX 250S.

I ride 7 miles to school and back every day on a 2009 KLX 250S at 65-70 easily on 2-lane and 4-lane state highways. I have hit 75, but I would not want to cruise above 70. And I would definitely not take it on an interstate.
I have a Dynojet kit, 120 jet I think (smallish), and a 2 Bros Exhaust. Sea level.

A couple more things for you, Xpress: in 6th gear, your mph is approximately your rpm/100. eg, 67 mph ~ 6700 rpm, etc. And I get 55 mpg.
I got the KLX because of its simplicity and low price. Sure a little more power would be nice, but the KLX gets the job done for me. It depends if you just want an inexpensive commuter, or if you are really getting into riding and want more oompf.
Have fun with whatever you get.
